The Harvest moon just shone its light on the earth last night. I know that moon stuff seems like new age funny business to some. But the lunar cycle marks time for the beings on this planet, the waxing and waning light shines on every creature on the surface of this earth, and even those creatures deep under the sea feel the pull of the moon as its cycle pushes and pulls the tides through the months. Modern humans and their city life get disconnected with the moon, but that is an easy thing to fix. There are 13 full moons in a year, and 13 opportunities to connect deeper with this natural cycle.

Last nights full moon, considered the harvest moon by some, or moon fest by others, is one of the more celebrated. Coming at the end of the summer, farmers used its light to harvest longer in the fields. With the harvest in full swing, traditional humans would feast and celebrate the abundance.

Full moons are a good time to party, to meet new people and to renew old bonds. Meet someone for a drink, whether tea or wine, and let the conversation flow easily by listening to them and being quick to smile. Eat with others, get outside and try to see the moon. Go dancing if you can!

Have fun aligning yourself with the lunar cycle, you will notice you are not alone.
